Art is more than...

"For me, art is more than just a form of visual expression, it is a tool for introspection, identity, and social dialogue." It is where I meet myself.

When I paint, I am not just creating an image.

I am trying to understand what I feel. I often begin without knowing what will emerge. It is through gesture, color, and texture that meaning appears.

Painting has become my space for introspection.

Each layer carries memory, emotion, and experience.

As a Cape Verdean artist living abroad, my identity moves between cultures, histories, and territories. This in-between space shapes my work.

I work between abstraction and figuration, allowing forms to appear and disappear.

Not everything needs explanation.

Art leaves space for feeling.

For me, painting is both a personal encounter and a shared dialogue.
