Sandro Lopes is a self-taught visual artist and designer who explores the intersections of abstraction, identity, and cultural heritage through painting, sculpture, and fashion.
His work blends Cape Verdean traditions with contemporary expression, using color, texture, and movement to evoke emotional and social narratives.
Deeply influenced by themes of memory, resilience, and human connection, his artistic practice is guided by an intuitive process that transforms personal and collective experiences into visual dialogues.
His career in the arts began with the “Kabu Verdi Contemporâneo” collective exhibition in 2018.
Lopes has since participated in numerous group exhibitions, solidifying his presence in the contemporary art scene. His first solo exhibition, “Reflex D’nha Alma,” was held in 2021, showcasing his ability to capture personal and cultural reflections through his art
